Tip to get “A Parting Gift”

After many tries and many episode restarts I finally got the trophy thanks to a suggestion that user “Generic Streamer” made on steam (https://steamcommunity.com/app/1096570/discussions/0/6192985336590171965/)

 

Here’s what you have to do:

 

1. Start Episode 4 on M.R. James difficulty (developers of the game stated that difficulty does make a difference when it comes to getting this trophy, so don’t choose a hard difficulty because the ghosts will kill your character instead of giving them a parting gift).

 

2. Choose Ernest Finnegan as your character.

 

3. As soon as the episode starts, go to the Refectory and open the top left door, you’ll hear the Presence in there (R.I.P. Ernest, sorry mate).

 

4. Choose Sophie van Denend as your character.
 

5. Your goal now is to have Ernest’s ghost appear on the Refectory, you should trigger that by getting in and out of that room while progressing in the game. For me, he appeared as soon as I got the gear lubricated.

 

Not gonna lie, this trophy was a bit of a headache for me, so seeing it pop was *cheff’s kiss*. Hope this works for you! Good luck
