Cant login because of name change

when I try to make an account by changing my about me and confirming, the website says You may be trying to access an account that changed names on PSN. Please update the old/new name via the homepage first. I tried my old username and it worked but showed only the trophies I had before the name change. Can anyone explain what “update ur name using the home page means”?

First, what is your old name and what is your new name?

Second, update using the home page means typing in your name in the search box and clicking Update User or if you are logged in, click your Avatar at the top right and click Update Profile.
