Circle interactions not working

I finished the game yesterday and looked into the trophy guide just now to see what I was missing and I just now learned about the circle button. 

 

I tried it on the boombox, rubik cube and manequin in the first two levels and only the boombox worked. No matter how often I press circle or how long I hold it or where on the item I press it, nothing happens for either the rubiks cube or manequin. 

 

Anyone else have that problem?

 

Edit: Nevermind. You need to press circle while you have the manequin and rubiks cube picked up.
