health injectables?

i am having a problem with restoring health and just want someone to verify the way it works.

 

when i am at full health and have a battery available, it should try to store an injectable. when i am missing health and have an injectable it should restore health, right?

 

a lot of the time i will have to hit the button several times before it restores health and instead i get the message " battery not available". even tho i have an injectable.

 

i couldnt find anything after searching. i am playing on ps5 and dont really want to pull the ps4 out of the closet just to test and see if it is different. i feel like it is eating my inputs for dodges as well.

 

edit: its short and long presses. but there was something wrong when i first asked. the game crashed and it got better after that.
