ng+3 with house-rules required for platinum?

the trophyguide says in step 4 + 5 you have to play in ng+3.

 

cant i just use houserules and activate all boss burdens while playing ng+0?

Unfortunately no. You will notice during thread selection that when you change the option from ng+2 to ng+3 that it will start glowing, meaning the true ending is achievable on that thread. Anything under NG+3 won't have that glowing effect, meaning it won't count. It's also important to notice that the threads matter when collecting equipments, so it will be a lot easier to get all runes and equipments when you're above ng+3.
