The multiplayer is region locked

I didn't see this being mentioned anywhere which is why I feel the need to mention this here after finding out the hard way: The online component of this game is region locked.

 

I tried to get 'Opportunist' with a friend last night and we could never join each others game after being invited. Said that we needed to have 'Zeno Clash 2' installed in order to join, which is funny because we were already in our respective games. Also didn't matter if you are already in game or if you still have to launch it. It didn't work.

 

For you info, my friend had the UK version of the game, I had the US version. So the only way to fix this for us was to spend money again and purchase the game the other didn't have. After doing that, there were no problems joining each others game.

 

TL;DR if you plan on finding a partner for the online trophy which is dufficult by itself already, make sure you guys are playing the same version of the game. Otherwise you'd be wasting your time.
