Synchrony / two can Tango bug

I think i found a bug that forces you to get synchrony dlc to get the trophy: two can tango, i was trying to get the local coop trophy (two can tango trophy) but i would always get an error if i activate my second controller and i also did not find any way to start the local coop, (i read there should be stairs for it to the right but those stairs only told me which dlc you can buy for this game) , after i bough the synchrony dlc i was finaly able to play with my second controller

 

I am a bit new to this game but not a completly new so i dont think i made a mistake, did i do something wrong or have multiple people have the same issue ?
