Hey All, I am making this thread to keep track and review the games I have completed and earned the platinum of. I just finished my first year trophy hunting and am having a good time . I play alot of shorter Indie titles while playing seasonal ARPG’s. My goals for 2024 are to try to make time to play longer games and have fun . Im trying to work through my backlog of games but always new games i also want to play . Too many games not enough time . ( will post my backlog  list in this tread later if anyone wants to see it to recommend games from it to put ahead of others in priority)

 

Currently I’m at 107Platinums and 120:completed Games 

Currently playing : Hades / Terarria/trophy cleanup 

 

Below will be brief summaries of games i played by year . Ranking Explanations are as followed :

 

 

Epic :  These are the games that were great to play through and highly recommend. My absolute favourite gaming experiences on PlayStation.

 Fantastic: These games are better than average just  did not  have as much of an impact on me as my favourites.

Good: These games were still great but possibly not as fun due to grindy / not fun trophies.

Okay : .These games are mediocre, not great in terms of either gameplay or their platinum experience. 

 Not my Cup of Tea: This category is for games that I personally did not really enjoy. 

Cheesy :  easy cheesy grubby plats .I am not embarrassed i have few of these but trying to stay away from them now 

 

(White are seasonal ARPG’s . Not rating them as quality goes up and diwn depending on seasonal content. )

32.My Big Sister - strange pixel art  horror game.

34.Storm Boy - short cute story about boy and pelican .

35.Inside - half stealth puzzle game weirdly fantastic.

50.Glass Masquerade 2: Illusions - stained glass jigsaw puzzle. Harder than looks.

54.Firewatch - story based game. Good story hard to explain just play it . (100% No plat)

You have so many fantastic games in your backlog and both for games you haven't started and on your wishlist there are many I can for sure say are very good experiences.

On the games not released yet, I definitely want Little Nightmares 3, Phantom Blade 0, Swords of The Sea, Plucky Squire and Cat Quest 3

APRIL GAMES  (part 1)

 

Rise of the Ronin 

 

This game i was worried it wouldn’t live up to my expectations  after enjoying Ghost of Tsushima so much.However i was was not disappointed .
The combat choices are fantastic . Can choose between swords, guns, polearms and all sorts of variations. My favorite was the twin blades and used them the whole time other then testing out other things for fun  . Skill trees were all pretty balanced allowing several option for builds . I used an affliction based build with fire and poison and found it most effective.

The story was pretty good with many choices. Perhaps maybe too many .however the game allows you to change the timeline and see the other possible outcomes .( need to do this to get all the bond missions for platinum)  You can romance most of the characters, even multiple at once which gives you extra skill points, special gear and combat styles when high enough favour with each individual. ( of course i chose the cat lady as one of them :p)

There are many side things to do with collecting cats , raising region reputations, photographs, gambling dens , dojo training and bond missions that are repeatable. About a hour into the game you get your first house which allows you access to changing your transmog to anything you’ve found  (so many wonderful outfits ), send cats and dogs out on missions , gardening , change timeline and co op missions with friends or randoms . I did everything but the co-op and had alot of fun . (picture below of cat missions )

 

I no lifed this game pretty hard to finish it on a week and i dont regret a minute of it .I made several clips of combat, screenshots and had a blast. The game does have some mini challenges of horseback archery , firearms training ,and glider training as well but non of them were super hard to get high rank needed for the trophies.

This is probally GOTY  for me and i will most likely replay some of it on midnight difficulty to test out other builds when i make some time .Highly recommend this one to anyone interested in these kind of fighting games .

APRIL GAMES ( part 2)

Mystic Pillars

 

This is a short story puzzle game . You use alot of math in the puzzles to figure them out . Moving gens between then to make the correct pattern for each level . This game is not that long but difficulty ramps up near end . Had my brain hurting a little doing all the math. Fairly straightforward game. Good if you need a break from longer things and just want to chill and do math .

 

Strange Horticulture. 

This is fun cozy mystery occult story puzzle game. You run a shop discovering plant uses and helping customers that come in .There is a little cast of characters with a mystery to solve. You search clues on the map to find plants that lead you to identifying the ones you get over time throughout the story filling up a book of plant knowledge to use for good or bad. I enjoyed my playthrough and the different ending choices .You also get a purring cat friend on counter as a cute bonus . If  you like cozy puzzle games and plants you might like this game .

Titan Chaser

Thus game is a walking simulator style . Fairly short with  some weird semi horror elements and puzzles to solve .It was enjoyable but way to short. I felt the story could of been fleshed out more, and wanted more missions to do . Each one tells a short story where you drive in the car and complete objectives. The car can be annoying but i expect this in small budget games really . Nothing too buggy it has unstuck button so that helps .

 

Dave the Diver 

 

I enjoyed this game i had to play it twice on ps5 then later on ps4 .So much to do between fishing , restaurant management , farming . Crafting weapons ,Killing fun bosses and mini games . Its kind of addicting. Just one more dive , just one more day.  Looking forward to the Godzilla DLC  thats supposed to be coming in May . The dredge crossover was nice to see as well. Definitely one of the best games ive played this year  well worth the time.

Cat Slide Tiles

What can i say im a sucker for games with cats . This wasnt as horrible as the picture might make you think . Its a 3d slide puzzle where you have to make a route for the cat to take to get from level to level to eventually reach home . 80 levels some way easier then others .can be done in one sitting if your so inclined. Short game for a break from  grindy games to chill and play .

 

Raji : an ancient  epic 

(no platinum unfortunately )

 

This game was enjoyable. I thought the combat would be harder however. The environmental details and storytelling was really good . One thing i did not enjoy was not being able to control the camera angle, but i got used to it by the end . Also some of the jumps you make in the game are annoying. Angle yourself tiny bit off and you will fall . One thing to note  is  i had a bug of some sort to do with the orbs you collect. The trophy for collecting them all unlocked when i hadnt collected them all requiring me to wipe save and replay the story to get two trophies for orb collecting i couldnt do through character select. So if you play this make sure you get all orbs in a section before moving forward or risk having same issue .  Overall  id say its worth a play through as its short . 
 

Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion 

 

This game was recommended to me by a friend a while ago and finally got around to it . Cute short game. Solve some riddles , fight some bosses and wear cute af hats   Theres a endless mode at end of the game where you have to beat a mystery boss  which takes some rng . Good little game .I think theres a sequel out or coming out? I will likely try that one out as well. If you want a short action packed game this ones alot of fun .

Wind Peaks

(no platinum)

 

This game is a find item game telling a story about a vaction of team of scouts . You look for items to complete levels and  solve riddles. Short game that gets a little annoying at the end . Thankfully theres a hint button if you get stuck tho . Not sure id recommend this one unlessyour really into find item games  and like to squint.
