Is using an unofficial language translation patch allowed?

Hello,

I apologize if this has already been answered elsewhere, or if I have misread the FAQ.  I recently purchased a physical Japan-import hard-copy Tales of Innocence R; It is not region-locked, but it is only in Japanese.  An unofficial patch which translates the game from Japanese to English is in the works and is nearing 100% completion.  I want to know if using this patch on my Vita this is flaggable or even if it would have my account terminated.  AFAIK, this does not affect trophies in any way, and all trophies must be obtained as they naturally would be in Japanese.  I have never done anything unofficial with my games before and am largely unfamiliar of what the consequences might be, so I figured I would ask before making a potential massive mistake.

If this is indeed not okay to do, then I will most likely just play the game in Japanese (as it naturally is) while using something like a translated google doc open on my laptop on the side to understand the story.

Thank you for your time and responses.
