Architect Trophy. How to do it correctly?

Hello everyone,

I tried following two different guides for the architect trophy and I cannot get it to work.

I place the wood exactly as the pictures show. Does it have to do with the amount of wood you have placed, how many mazes you have created or something else?

Your help would be appreciated.
