Need help with this. I tried using Yellow Pods and beat the stage on BYDO difficulty but I still did not get the trophy.

Make sure you shoot the pod and do damage with them each time at least 20 times.

I don't think the color of pod matters.

You have to damage the boss at least 20 times with them before killing it.

It's one of the most difficult trophies in the entire game.

Color doesn’t matter but there’s a safe spot directly below the 4th turret for certain ships up until the 3rd set of lasers. Hold fire + spam pods at that spot then back up and finish the boss with primary, I killed it right after the 3rd set lasers were over.

I think we all did it that way.

 

But you're right to tell to back up from a certain point, because it's not really a safe spot if you're playing Bydo difficulty or above. You'll avoid the first waves of angle lasers, but you'll end up hit, from 3rd or 4th wave, no matter how close you're settled.

I spent a good time to position well to kill it, and each time, I killed myself (too close) or I thought I was "too far" (because I got hit), but in fact, there is no perfect position to be totally safe. You can't time out with that (those) spot(s) on Bydo.
