Tropico 6's PS5 Multiplayers Servers Are Region-Locked

EU players cannot play with NA players and vice versa. In order to get the Teamplayer trophy, you must play with someone in the same region. I tested this with three people in Spain, the UK, and the USA. I was only able to find my US friend in a PS5 lobby. I never saw the game lobbies of my friends in Europe. Every time I accepted their invites, I was taken to the PSN Store page for Tropico 6, which offered me the option to buy the game for $50 US or "Play Game." This was odd considering 1. I already owned the game and 2. I was already playing the PS5 version.

 

In addition to being region locked, I was unable to join the other US player's lobby until he and I became friends on PSN. 

 

He told me Tropico 6's PS5 multiplayer servers are not compatible with Tropico 6's PS4 multiplayer servers. He attempted to connect from his PS5 with other people on PS4 and was could not join them. I myself was unable to test the issue of cross-gen compatibility.

I JUST discovered this myself, not cool at all. Honestly Its kind of ridiculous
