Popular Post Guardian_owl
I hadn't seen this quirk mentioned so I thought make this post so people don't make the same mistake I did. If just before exiting the game, you take a break from the story to do some pollen collecting toward the grindy "collecting from 3,000 flowers" trophy, you will lose all the work you have done when you close the game. That is because stupidly, DEPOSITING POLLEN INTO THE HIVE DOES NOT TRIGGER AN AUTO-SAVE (a Bee briefly appears in the lower right corner of the HUD while saving). Completing a stage of a story mission, completing a side mission, or completing a challenge will trigger an auto-save. So very early in the game try to end your play session with a mission or challenge to ensure your pollen collection progress is saved. Once Knowledge Point shops open, you can purchase a glossary entry or a cosmetic item for your bee (hat, skin, or trail) in the Wardrobe menu and this will trigger an auto-save. After any cosmetic item has been unlocked, you can now trigger an auto-save at any time for free by changing your equipped hat, skin, or trail in that same menu. I ran into this problem when I was in free mode after completing all other feats and still had 1600 pollen left to collect. I stopped playing at 2400 collected at the boathouse hive and then discovered when I booted the game up the next day I had lost ALL of my collecting work from the previous day (back down to 1400 collected) because no actions in the pollen collection chain trigger an auto-save (at least not in Free Mode post-story). So ALWAYS change your outfit in the Extra->Wardrobe menu to trigger an auto-save before closing the game to ensure you don't lose any progress toward non-challenge related feats (like distance traveled) or pollen collection. --- One other Pollen quirk I'll mention is you can track how much pollen you have collected in 2 different ways: under the Statistics menu or the Feats menu. Your Statistics # collected will likely be 15-40 higher than your Feat # collected by the end of the game. That is because as part of the Dance challenge and various other Story and Side missions you have to collect pollen from a certain flower. If your stomach is already full of pollen when you collect that flower, it will still register as collected to end the mission, and it will be added to the Statistic #, but not the Feats # because you didn't actually harvest it. So don't freak out if you reach 3,000 collected in Statistics and it doesn't pop, check feats for the actual # remaining. Putch
Been trying this in the post game mode and my pollen count on statistics keeps going up but feats always resets using the wardrobe purchase. Very annoying. Think I might have to get to 3000 in one play session.
