Wanted: Dead is a new hybrid slasher/shooter from the makers of Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive. The game follows a week in life of the Zombie Unit, an elite Hong Kong police squad on a mission to uncover a major corporate conspiracy. Play as Lt. Maybe I have missed this elsewhere, but do death counters for killing enemies carry over if you die before a checkpoint?  Or is it reset?  Any knowledge on this?

It counts. At least it does when you reload a checkpoint

Yeah, it does work. I farmed the 1000 kills by repeating the Club lobby in Chapter 3 (clearing the first wave and letting myself get killed by the last couple of guys of wave 2).
