How the hell does combo edit work? I cannot seem to unlock this trophy

Topic title. The in game tutorials are total garbage, and the trophy guide is about as helpful as a blind man leading another blind man. Someone PLEASE explain how I'm supposed to edit combos in this game.

This is really trial and error setting up a combo, thanks to the horrible UI that uses nested lists for each action and button.

Navigate using D-Pad (not ), select a free button combination, then press  and select the action for this slot on the right popup with / and confirm with . Press  to select the combo name and press  to open the keyboard. Enter any name and confirm with . The trophy should pop.
