Boosting and Far, Far Away... and An Inch and 6.2 Miles

From my testing boosting works just as well for making progress towards this trophy. You can make a private match with mutator settings for Boost 10X speed and unlimited boost. Then you can change the boost button to R2 and go nuts.

 

It should be noted that there is a slight chance that you will get stuck boosting against a wall. You could map X to the other trigger and rubber band both triggers to address this. Alternatively, you can connect to your PS using remote play and script an auto clicker app to hold the boost button and periodically press X or move the joystick to get you out of this situation.
