Bought FF 7 Rebirth dual pack and cant import file from FF 7 remake of the same region

Title sums it all but to clarify a bit, a friend borrowed me the game, i beat it and eventually got the platinum on ps4.

 

Since i loved it decided to pre order Rebirth and take advantage of getting the first game "for free", however i noticed a few things. This edition includes only ps5 version of the game, Intergrade. Despite that i didnt thought it wouldnt even allow me to use the cleared data from ps4 version (SAME REGION) to at least play on ng+ and unlock all trophies again.

 

Anyone has any idea what could be wrong?

I'm pretty sure you need to go onto the PS4 version first and upload save file and then you can download them save files when you start the PS5 version. If I remember correctly

100% correct. 

 

In order to transfer over your ps4 save data to the ps5 version you need to use the internal save transfer system on the main start menu of the ps4 version first. 

 

Then load up the ps5 version and select the option to import your ps4 save data.

Thanks guys, going to try it out later. Hope it works at least to be able to jump straight into hard mode and avoind having to do 2 entire playthroughs.
