Is this collection a good way to play the Metal Gear games?

It may not be buggy (thanks in part to BluePoint Games' fine HD remaster of MGS 2 & 3), but it is a total ripoff. They literally just ported 2 & 3 from the HD collection, implemented  a poor PS1 emulator for MGS1 and wrapped it all up in a Unity made launcher and called it a day. Graphics are untouched at best and blurry at worst. MGS1 also plays like ass. You're better off recovering the PS3 remaster collection or just emulating it all on PC.

That's why it's a remaster and not a remake, Metal Gear Solid plays exactly like it did in the PS1 days, clunky so nothing new.

To the OP, to me this is indeed the best way to expeience it, specially since Guns of the Patriots is finally leaving the PS3 prison.

It's not the clunkyness that's the problem with this version.
The analog stick is not really analog, it's digital input mapped to the analog stick, and most versions run like at ass at 50hz. If you were to launch the japanese version present in the collection you would notice it running smooth as butter as that's the only version present in this collection that's running at 60zh like every other version present in this "Master Collection" should be.

Oh I didn't notice that, fair point and that's good to share.
