World Traveler question

I played the main campaign entirely in coop with a fried of mine. I did all of the side missions solo though. The trophy for visiting every location didn’t pop, because of the infamous discovery glitch when playing in coop. I’m gonna start a new playthrough to get it, but I do have a question before I do that.

 

Let’s say the only location I’m missing is Ebon Floe. If I pick the same character and play through the early stuff until I discover Ebon Floe, does the trophy pop then? Or do I need to discover every location in one playthrough?

 

in short: is it linked to my character or linked to my playthrough?

I too ran into the infamous glitch due to playing in Co-op. As I recall I cleared it using the same character on the next difficulty level as I had yet to reach level 50. The area where the trophy popped for me was during the mission at the Caustic Caverns as I recall. So I don't think you will have to do a complete playthrough if you continue with the same character.
