Season 7 Changes

Recommended Posts

Season 7 started yesterday and there are many changes to the game that may make it easier for you to get things done in the game. So, time for an overview...

I'm Going to Wreck It!

Wreck-It Ralph joins the cast of racers for Season 7 as the movie brings in five racers for the game.

* Vanellope von Schweetz - A Speedster class racer, the princess of Sugar Rush uses her Glitch skills to outrace the competition

* Ralph - A Brawler class racer, Ralph comes in knowing that there is no racer he would rather be then himself

* Sargent Calhoun - Another racer in the Brawler class, Sargent Calhoun is ready to take on a new challenge that will make any hero's momma proud

* Fix-It Felix - A Defender class racer, Felix ready to fix anything (including his kart) to win the race

* King Candy - A Trickster class racer, this former king of Sugar Rush has gone 'turbo' yet again, this time in this world.

As for the Crew Members.

* Common - Hero's Duty Troops, Sorceress, Claw Officers, Cy-Bugs, FPS Monitor

* Rare - General Hologram, Nicelanders, Wynnchel and Duncan, Saitine, Surge Protector

* Epic - Stan Litwak [Ralph], Moppet Girl [Vanellope], Markowski [Sargent Calhoun], Sour Bill [King Candy], Gene [Fix-It Felix]

The Season Tour/World Map

Season Tour has been given some upgrades from Season 6. Now, the season is split in two halves with Part 1 (Chapters 1-5) running right now and Part 2 (Chapters 6-10) coming within a month or so.

The Season Tour is now part of a World Map that includes Tournaments based on past seasons. Currently, only the Monsters, Inc. season is open but there are planned tournaments for the seasons based on Toy Story and Lilo and Stitch.

To enter the tournament, you'll need a ticket. You get 4 tickets (unless you buy the Vault Pass, where you can get unlimited tickets) to enter a tournament. There's a Novice level, a Pro level and a Super level. To enter each level, your racer(s) need to be at least Level 10 [Novice Cup], Level 20 [Pro Cup] and finally, Level 30 [Super Cup].

Tournaments have four races each. Points are given by position and the winner is the racer with the most points after the last race. Finishing in the top three nets you a trophy and Vault Points, which are used in the Vault - basically that season's pass - to unlock stuff in there.

Upgrade Changes

The Upgrade system has been given a massive overhaul, making things a lot easier for everyone to get the Three Star trophies here.

ALL the upgrade parts have been combined into one universal currency, Upgrade Coins, and the amount of shards needed to unlock a character is now just 10 across the board.

Before hand, it required 200 total shards for a racer to reach max stars. Now, it'll take less time to reach that total.

As mentioned before, it only take 10 shards to unlock a racer. The new upgrade formula works like this.

* Level 1 - 0 Shards

* Levels 2 through 10 - 1 Shard each

* Levels 11 through 19 - 2 Shards each

* Levels 20 through 25 - 3 Shards each

* Levels 26 through 30 - 4 Shards each

* Levels 31 through 40 - 5 Shards each

* Levels 41 through 44 - 7 Shards each

* Levels 45 through 47 - 9 Shards each

* Levels 48 through 50 - 10 Shards each

This means that with enough shards and Upgrade Coins, you can easily get a racer to star up. Star ups happen at Levels 20, 30, 40 and 50.

I saw this, thanks for the write up! I'll add it to the guide. I've got a few changes to make to the guide as well besides the upgrade system. I was playing the game some this weekend to see what the impact of the changes were. The updates really hurt the F2P players, as they are removing the ability to get the Golden Pass with Tokens, and now can only buy it with coins. (They gave a short term reprieve by creating a Golden Pass credit that you can purchase with tokens, but as of right now it's a long term solution. The community wasn't happy with this update, which is a shame as the game content added for the most part is excellent.
