The Mother Lode trophy - helpful tips guide

Since we had trouble obtaining The Mother Lode trophy (especially with randoms, no offence), I decided to gather some information and tips from numerious sources together with our own experiences, and make us a simple to follow tips-guide which should make the Advanced Co-op missions a bit easier. And it did. A lot.

We literally just got the tropgy, since the tips-guide helped us a lot, I decided to throw it online for people to see. Once you stick to this guide, and give people certain tasks (like sniping and healing), it shouldn't be too hard unless a glitch decides to come along or something goes horribly wrong. We just did all the missions, with 3 people. Here it is:

Overall tips:

* Always refill ammo.
* Always stay together.
* Always try to aim for headshots.
* Sniper headshot chains can make it very easy to gather money.
* Most enemies will run for cover, and stay there, when they pop up, you attack.
* Don't worry if you fail a few times, stay cool, and get to know the missions bit by bit.
* Killing snipers and gattling gunner earn much more money (so try to wait untill an enemy takes over gattling gun).

The Herd - about $5,675  needed to gold (we had this exact amount with 16 or 18 cows left if I remmebr correctly)

* First area, have a good sniper kill all the enemies to rack up money.
* Sneak past the cows in beginning and run ahead to kill enemies within canyon.
* After canyon, cattle rustlers will spawn infinitely, use this to your adavantage, but also keep pushing the cows  forward. Semi-automatic shotgun recommended.

The River - 10,000 (4 players) needed to gold

* Get headshots for the extra money, but getting long chains is more important. Both would be ideal of course.
* On rafts, have 1/2 people shoot enemies instead of all 3/4 disrupting kill-chains. Use deaseye for 15+ chains.
* Stay on rafts as long as possible.
* After boarding land in the last area, shoot the enmies in the first house first. Then shoot the rest from within.
* In the last area, there will be an infinitely spwaning horseman throwing molotov cocktails, use him to your advantage for getting extra money if needed.
* Before ending the mission, vote out someone if short on money (and replay for him/her obviously). This tricks the game in thinking you completed the mission with a person less.

Ammunition - about $8,750 needed to gold

* Headshots aren't mandatory, however, always aim for the head just in case.
* Right at the start, have 2 or more people throw dynamite at the Mexican army blasting through the towns' doors.
* After killing all the invading enemies, the canons will start firing at the town, head out of the town at the East side. Then walk around the North side, keeping away from the town walls, picking off the soliders with snipers. There's an ammo box nearby.

Walton's Gold - about $8,640 (depends on how many bangs of gold you collect) needed to gold

* Before entering the mine, watch out for the dynamite throwers and snipers. There should be 2 of both of them.
* Inside the mine, get EVERY bag. This will signifficantly lower the Gold medal requirement.
* Once in the building, stay inside and shoot the enemies from within.

The Escape - about $8,860 needed to gold

* In the first area, have a decent sniper snipe all the enemies to rack up money.
* As soon as the enemies spawn on the way to Benedict Point after stealing the carriage, get in the carriage for protection and shoot the enemies from there. Semi-automatic shotguns recommended.
* Sneak up to the cannons at Tumbleweed and stay away from the edge.
* When at the cannons, use them to kill gattling gunners close by, then switch to snipers for the rest. Have a medic on stand-by.
* When enemies spawn travelling towards the border, stop and snipe them at every spawn.

The Kidnapped Girl - about $8,045 needed to gold

* Right at the beginning, have 1 person sniper chain-kill all of the the enemies.
* After blowing up the doors to the fort, have 1 sniper stand at the beginning of the mission for overhead support. From here the sniper can kill about 10 enemies.
* After getting the carriage, have someone on horseback (enemies tend to prioritize the carriage). Always stop when enemies spawn and kill them from within the carriage/from behind a rock.
* Before the train bridge, have 1 sniper headshotting the 4 sniper enemies.
* At the farm, leave the kidnapped girl and the carraige outside the farm. You can use a sniper rifle and easily get a 10+ kill-chain.
* After taking the kidnapped girl to the farm, get on horseback, circle the farm while killing the enemies. Again, semi- automatic shotgun recommended.

I hope you liked this guide, and we wish you good luck in getting the trophy. Honestly, it shouldn't be too hard if you stick to these tips and work together.

You should try your hand at making a guide for the DLC.

Some other tips:

With the Herd you can have one person stop in front of the herd to stop them where the other three people can rack up a big score on the infinite spawning rustlers.

On the River you need to not use any dynamite and stick to head shots if you want to finish with a higher score.

Honestly, we found out headshots are not THAT important as people think in this mission. Just make sure you always get chains (they don't neccessarily have to be long), this increases the money significantly too. However, always try to aim for headhots though.

Thanks for the tips man. This will really come in handy since I am doing those missions now. Much appreciated  ^_^

No problem. Good luck!
