The last of us: Firefly & Hunter tips.

Yeah, maybe this should in the tips section, but i think there it would go largely ignored, so in an effort to save a few people from going grey at 23, I wanna share this. 

 

Also I don't know how this isn't in the tip section already, I thought it was fairly obvious but apparently not. 

Here's what I do when it comes to the two main time consuming fucks that are known as firefly and hunter trophies. 

 

1. You can get away with skipping days, better yet you can get away with skipping 4, maybe more but I haven't risked it. I skip 4 days. 

So play day 1, skip 4, play another day and get above the needed supplies and make every one happy/healthy..

Now they're healthy and not considering cannibalism, skip another 4 days.. yeah now Tim Walsh is considering cannibalism again.. oh well fuck Tim, I heard he's a social justice warrior anyway.. so if he wants to eat his own fingers, let him.

 

So play one day (get above the recommended amount), skip four, play another (get above the recommended amount) and skip another 4. 

 

By skip I mean join the game, once it starts, leave. Your days would have increased and your supplies/rations will have been decreased. 

So your camp will be hungry, sick or dead. Nevermind, they're hungry? Oh that's nice I guess I'll skip another day. Who likes free loaders anyway.

 

So you can skip 4, so essentially you're playing 2 days in every 10, which makes your playing time much shorter, much less time consuming.

 

 

 

2. WHAT DO I DO WHEN FILTHY SHIT LORDS ATTACK MY CAMP ;/ ?

 

Okay, so you're going to have to complete a challenge every week or two to save the people in your camp.. 

here's what you do.. you don't.  

 

Don't even attempt to complete the challenge, until it threatens you with the risk of losing 100% of your free loading, lazy as fuck, population. 

 

While it's fun playing the hero to your make believe camp, fuck them, self preservation is key here. 

If not completing the challenge will leave you with 50% of your population dead, good! let the fuckers die! 

The less population the better! OH BUT I WANT HAT, HATS LOOK NICE, DO U LIEK HATS? I LIEK HATS.. ;/ 

fuck the hats.

 

I'm sorry Adam, you were too fat and too slow to get away from the filthy shit lords who attacked camp and to be honest I didn't even bother completing the get "get 5 kills with a pistol challenge" so you're dead.. ahh well. life goes on... just not for you. 

 

While you're planning on not completing the challenges, pick all the challenges you'd never do/choose. 

And leave the easy ones like - get 5 kills with a semi auto rifle, for the times when the risk is 100%. That way it's easy to do well and save some free loaders. 

 

Also on the last day of the challenge, play that day and do well so your population is all healthy when some of them die. 

 

So to recap (my shitty humour probably made it hard to follow)

 

play 1 day (get above the recommended amount of supplies)  

skip 4 

play another 1 (get above the recommended amount of supplies)  

skip 4. 

 

Rinse and repeat and you'll end up play one third of the matches you would have originally. 

 

When the challenges come up, if the risk of death is below 100% pick a hard challenge and don't do it, but play on the last day of the challenge to avoid you losing all of your population. 

And pick the easy challenges when your risk is 100%.

 

If you don't do good on the day, you can sign out and that match/day/game wouldn't have counted. 

Keep your population low! Seriously people attacking your camp and killing your free loaders is a god send. 

If you keep the population low you don't even have to be good on TLOU multiplayer to keep your low pop healthy, it's win, win, win and oh look! another win.

 

When I did this, it worked, If it's patched now, too bad, sad day for you.

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA, mate this was a hilarious forum topic! I literally laughed the whole way through; thanks for that, I've been feeling quite sick these past few weeks

 

Definitely some good points here mate, I hate how I'm such a perfectionist and even though I know most of the challenges don't matter (like the add 10 people to clan ones), I still have to go for them anyway :'( I'm such a silly bloke haha. I didn't even think of the idea about quitting games to get the trophy faster though (since it doesn't matter if some people are sick at all). And I'm sorry, but I'm addicted to getting the new hats. I can't help it; I see a new hat, and I must have it

 

If I was just going for the trophies I would definitely use this method; but since I love it so much, I don't care how long it takes; I'm going to enjoy it by golly!

Yeah, this is an awesome tip indeeed.

When i was going for hunter/firefly on ps3 i played all 168 games, and since i wanted to plat the remastered one as well i said "fuck this shit, i'm gonna skip a few days"

The key is, stay at 10~15 clan members so you can skip more easily and avoid headaches , doing this method (playing one day gathering around 40/50 supplies and skipping the next 4~5 days) i was able to do 12 weeks in 4 hours.
