Overall retail sales are up 8% year over year.

Hardware sales were up 116% year over year.

Software sales were down 21% year over year.

-Software ranking order does not include bundles.

-Xbox One software revenues nearly doubled from July.

PS4: #1 best selling

Xbox One: Correction the previous statement here was for a doubling of software revenues.

Congratulations to both Sony and Micro$oft, when gaming companies have good sells, it's good for the industry as a whole no matter what console you prefer.

Not strictly related to August NPD, but this seems like the best place for this. Destiny for PS4 passed the Xbox One titanfall SKU shortly after release for YTD sales on amazon. Today, Destiny for Xbox one also surpassed Titanfall on the Amazon YTD best sellers list.
