Owned trophy almost impossible on vita

Hey, I’ve been trying to 100% this game lately but I find the Owned trophy almost impossible. I’ve read quite a few post with strategies like the pin shot + R bottom to replenish the trick bar, but by the time that I manage to stop the ball and fill the bar the AI will always score a goal no matter what I do.

 

The table I’ve been trying the most is the North Pole one since the ball is bigger and (in theory) slower, but I’ll never get more than 7 goals before the AI scores. The thing is it takes forever for my players to pick and stop the ball even if I have L or R pressed and held. I keep moving the left stick up and down and the right one to the right but with no success.
 

Is there any useful trick or advice someone who know the game can provide please? I’m really about to give up with this trophy.
