Question Regarding Name Change

So I changed my name awhile back and all my stats and upgrades were intact with the PS4 version of the game. Seeing that most PS3 CoDs have had stats reset after a name change, I am curious about this game and the data transfer between the PS3 and PS4 version. Has anyone tested both versions of this game after changing your name?

 

My main concern is that I will log onto the PS3 version of the game and my stats on there will be reset due to my name change, then my PS4 progress will be overwritten during data transfer due to this possible reset. I ask because I'm interested in potentially helping people with Extinction in both versions of the game, but I don't want to risk losing all the Extinction upgrades I spent 350+ hours grinding for.
