Don't close the game from the PS Menu

Just lost several hours of gameplay because apparently the game doesn't save between levels, only when you exit to the main menu(?). So yeah, don't be like me.

 

Edit: Lost all my gameplay after a crash despite having exited to the menu after every level. I have no idea what triggers this, but clearly the game doesn't update your save after every level clear. This is ridiculous - the game is a buggy mess and I highly recommend you skip it. It's a rare goddamn game that makes me regret spending 2.50.
