Autolog Recommendations to hard?

I don't know if I am doing something wrong since apparently the trophy "Friendly Competition" is supposed to be fairly easy but no matter what race I try to replay the Autolog recommendations are incredibly difficult. I'm not talking about me missing the time with a couple of seconds or a few points in score. I'm talking about there being a 40+ second difference for example.

Is there a way to get easier recommendations? or is there something else I am missing.

Not sure how it looks in Payback, but in previous games, you could race a bit with a different account, then add yourself and beat "your own" records.

Okay so if you have a friend with the game it prioritizes their times? If so then I'll either just race some on a second account or add someone who is willing to have a bad time on a race for a little bit.
