Word of Warning - Platinum Difficulty may greatly vary from Player to Player

Just as a word of caution for those that look up the Platinum guide for this game and see all the 2/10 and 3/10 difficulty conclusions.

Just know that I really think this varies from Player to Player, for those that are very familiar with Pac-Man and were an avid player in the past then this absolutely will be a 2-4/10 difficulty especially if you use the save exploit.

 

However, for those such as myself who have next to little or no experience with penny arcade titles then this game will be a 5-7/10 difficulty. Again the exploit does make this game easier and without it I really don't think I'd have the skills and talent to Platinum this title. So subjectively, yes, the exploit makes the game easy but it will still be an incredibly frustrating experience.

I would say that Om Nom Nom is the crux of this game and can have you wanting you to yank your hair out. There are supposed 'set patterns you can take that'll make this easier this either requires very quick and precise reflexes when passing corners and there have been numerous accounts of the AI behaving completely different from how 'set pattern tutorials are showing in videos. Even with the save exploit this trophy requires some luck, skill, and a hell of a lot of patience.

 

The only other Trophy worth noting of trouble would be Fruit Basket but again with the save exploit and the five lives you should hopefully scrape by although it might be a long tedious process of closing the game down over and over again to upload the save to the Cloud.

 

In short, I think playing this game made me respect the older generation of the gaming audience and those who master these retro games. You're all on another level because from my experience from this game I never want to see the word Pac-Man on my screen ever again.

Om Nom Nom trophy is a real pain in the ass! It really took me a lot of patience, luck, some pattern learning, and I think I've lost 5 years of my life because of the frustration.
But hey, got the platinum eventually. But for me, this was certainly not a 2/10 like the guide would say.

Yeah I'm in agreement here. However, if folks don't mind getting the platinum through the save exploit (like i did), it really is super quick. I was able to grab all the tough stuff in one sitting.

 

There is that set path (I assume we watched the same guide video) but it wasn't working for me. I just used the save exploit generously. Would save every time I ate four ghosts and one fruit. So I did about six saves and did not follow the suggested path. Just be careful about saving when all of the ghosts are really close by. I'd eat them, get some distance and then save.
