Two players puzzles

Are some puzzles in the game meant to be two players only? Because I'm finding some of them to be incredibly frustrating with their tight timing by doing them alone. For instance, in mission 4 you have to use War to hit two crystals and immediately after you have to use Aether Spark with Strife to move through a timed gate. For the life of me I can't pass fast enough.

 

edit. Nevermind, turns out I had to make a counterintuitive jump over the gap and around the gate corner to get through, even though the Aether Spark tracks seemed to go through the gate. Lots of obscure puzzles in this game, at least I'm almost done.
