Popular Post cobaltTangerine
Great guide, thank you for the help! Very easy but long Platinum. 2/10 difficulty (very easy missable trophies). You'll die a lot early on Hard mode, largely because you don't have the health potions and Abilities/Skills/HP to make things easier. I played a 50-50 Sorcery Finesse Build and ended up using Charkrams and Bows as my 2 weapons, along with Finesse armor. Loved the weapon synergy, they allow you to be very mobile, but tried everything else before I made the decision. For Abilities, in Sorcery I used Summon Fear Gotta (great help in distracting enemies and refilling health), Sphere of Protection (always on), grabbed either/both Mark of Flame and/or Storm Bolt and Healing Surge. And in Finesse, Envenomed Edge (always on). I upgraded the Charkrams and Bows paths. Great combo of ranged weapons, using the Fear Gotta as a distraction. For Skills, alternate between Persuasion (for the trophy) and Detect Hidden until both are maxed. Detect Hidden is by far the most useful skill in the game. Blacksmithing and Sagecraft are really only useful late game for crafting weapons and possibly armor (you'll collect this through looting while playing the game). Dispelling and Lockpicking are more convenience than necessary. But upgrade Dispelling first, it gives you less chance of the chests exploding and giving you a curse. Alchemy is not that useful. Stealth and Mercantile are useless. A few other tips. Force Locks and Auto Dispel chests to save time. Save Reckoning mode for boss fights, they make them effortless, unless the boss has stages (few do). Loot everything. Salvage weapons and gear you use and sell everything else. Money is never an issue in the game if you go this route and you will have more than enough materials to craft better gear end game. Personally I think every play style is viable except stealth. The way enemy encounters are set up, the way they patrol and quickly change direction, the openness of environments, stealth just isn't functional. Plus it is a huge game, efficiency in combat is key. And I say this as someone who played Skyrim as a stealth archer. And I love going the stealth route in Assassins Creed games. Prepare yourself for load screens. During some side quests, when you are entering and exiting buildings or environments, you will spend more time in load screens than the actual quest. On the PS4, entering a building took around 15 seconds and loading an outdoor environment took around 30 seconds. This may not sound like much, but when you have a village with 5 or 6 building to enter and exit, it will add up. As will fast traveling 7 or 8 times during a quest. I got used to it, but in the first few hours of the game, I almost quit. I'd say I've spent more time in load screens going after this Platinum than I have in any other game. Save the game constantly. Get in the habit of saving every 5-10 minutes. It is quick and will save you much more time than it will waste. In regards to the Fatesworn DLC, I've purchased it and put about 10 hours in so far. Ultimately, it does not add a lot to the base game. There is a new area, but it is more of the same in regards to quests and enemies and general gameplay. There is a new chaos enemy type that has a shield around their health. You will need to craft a new weapon type to get through the shield, but that is about it. It increases the level cap, so if you are max level, it may be something to consider, but I'd wait until you Platinum the game to make the decision. If you want more Amalur, then definitely go for it. There is a lot of game in Re-Reckoning. DLC often adds new things to the base game that is useful, but this isn't the case with Fatesworn. It is endgame content and will in no way take away from the base game experience without it. IMO, enjoy the game and if you want more, pick up the DLC. And that is it. Hope this info was helpful. Send any questions and I'll be happy to answer. Give the post a like if possible and let me know of any issues/improvements you can think of. Thx! Darling Baphomet
I majorly disagree on Blacksmithing and Sagecraft. You can make some extremely OP armor with them, e.g. having a full set of armor that gives extra elemental damage or health regeneration. You can also boost skills fairly easily by seeking out trainers (although you may need to respect if your skills are too high / low to train with them) who you can find a list of on the wiki.
cobaltTangerine
I didn't attempt the OP route, so I'm sure you have a point. I never had much trouble with the game, so never did my research on creating an OP build. I went the OP route in Skyrim and it totally broke the game, but was still fun. Absolutely nothing wrong with going OP and if you're going the OP route, you have good advice. Throughout my gameplay, I was using a combo of armor I regularly found in the game and accessories that boosted my health regen. Actually I was boosting my XP as well. When I said the Blacksmithing and Sagecraft were useful late game, I guess I was referring the fact that constantly leveling up throughout normal gameplay made any armor or weapons I made replaceable after a few levels. Using the rare salvage to make this armor seemed like something to save for late game when you could build ultimate weapons, which I did for my Charkrams and Bows with the Chaos element for the Fatesworn DLC. I found a legendary armor set that allowed me to summon an ice wolf that replenished my arrows when it attacked and I ended up using that for all the Fatesworn DLC. But I might research the OP route, as I'm having trouble beating the final boss without taking damage from his summon areas. Thanks for the reply!
BlueSnow93
Just buy invincibility potions, in Rathir (alchemy store) and from a vendor at House of Valor iirc, for the fight.

cobaltTangerine
Yeah, I played through in 2012 and decided to do another run with it being on Playstation Plus, as well as checking out the new DLC. There is a ton of stuff in this game that is easy to overlook. Thanks again for the tip! Edited January 10, 2022 by cobaltTangerine
