I think you need 8 to start blitz(we searched with 7 and the game wouldn't start). So get a group together and put 3 people going for trophies on one team...once the match starts use round one to build up your meters by hitting/collecting gems. In round 2 everyone leaves match by quitting app, except the 3 going for the win/trophy and fodder needed for the trophy on one other team.
