Digital & Retail Save File The Same?

I'm wondering if the save file for the digital version of the game works with the retail version? I know some games don't, for example the Dead Space retail save file didn't work with the digital edition.

 

I bought the DE on disc ages ago but never opened it while waiting to get my PS5, but then Sony gave us the game free on PS+ and by the time I got around to playing it it was labeled as the DE, so I played that version thinking all the DLC was included.

 

Now I know the free digital version doesn't have the DLC, I'm thinking of selling my unopened retail copy for about £15 and then buying the DE digital upgrade while it's on sale, effectively saving myself £5.

 

Or I'll use the retail copy and then sell it 2nd hand for about £10.

Nope 😅 doesn't matter now anyhow as I've completed all the DLCs, I've only the hardest difficulty trophies left to complete 😁

 

Can't remember what I ended up doing.
