Do I have to do the trophies all over again or do the ones I did on PS4 transfer over to the PS5 Gold edition?

If I earned trophies while playing the PS4 edition am I going to have to do them all over again when I play the PS5 Gold edition? I've never fully understood how exactly do trophies work between different editions of a game, is it a case by case situation dependent on what the devs decide on or is it a universal thing in the Playstation ecosystem? It's all really confusing because I have seen some games that share their trophy progress between editions and some do not. DC Universe Online for example, has it's own trophies for PS3, but shares the trophy list for the PS4 and PS5 editions. When I loaded up Spider-Man Remastered on PS5, it unlocked the platinum trophies I did on the original PS4 edition. Is there an easy way to spot these things or is it a guessing game?
