Popular Post commandoswat
The platinum guides on this site mention multiple exploits but they don't really go into much details so if you're concerned read this first. Just to address some thing regarding the exploits that the OP didn't really address and that people definitely should keep in mind. For starters the duplications methods are absolutely NOT THE SAME like the OP is suggesting. The vendor duplicate method allows you to duplicate crafting materials whilst the Skyhold chest method allows you to duplicate any armor and amulets, if your end goal is just gold both work fine but both have massive cons and pros. Outside of gold the best use of the vendor method is the ability to dup any crafting material which would essentially make any grinding for armor pieces non-existent and you can be pretty OP early on even with Tier-2 materials if you can find a decent schematic. The biggest con of this method however is that you can't duplicate amulets of power and pretty much unlock every skill for all your party members in like half of an hour of duping with the chest. As for the Skyhold chest it's pretty much the inverse, you can dup expensive armor for gold and as many amulets of power as you want to unlock every ability in the game at the cost of not being able to duplicate crafting materials.Another thing to point out is that you can't just willy nilly ''delete the patches'', if you installed a patch or any dlc you can't delete them and just continue playing like normal because your character's save is already attached to those patches and you won't be able to use those saves until you download the patches again. So if you want to make use of the Vendor exploits you have to start from scratch with a new character. Here is what I suggest if you're starting the game for the first time, create a new character and don't install any patches until you reach Skyhold so that you can use the power exploit mentioned in the guide. The inquisition perks are quite useful to have early on. After that it's up to you if you install patches or not, I already mentioned the pros and cons above. I should point out tho that you can actually duplicate amulets of power pre-patch as well by looting chests and leaving at-least one item in the box whilst taking the amulet of power. When you teleport out of the area and come back you can pick up the amulet of power again and you can repeat this as many times as you'd like. Needless to say this is an arduous process that would take many hours if you want all the necessary skills for your entire party but at-least you will be able to keep the ability to duplicate crafting materials by not installing the patch. Lonemankane
I have a question. why can't you dup both? like do crafting items and amulets and so on after downloading the patch?

You cannot duplicate non-crafting material like armor with the pre-patch vendor method, it just doesn't work. Why? Who knows, but only crafting materials seems to get dupped. The reason as to why you can't dup crafting materials after downloading the patches is rather simple, you can't put crafting materials or valuables into the Skyhold storage, thus you can't dup them, however you can dup pretty much anything that you can put in the box like armor, weapons, accessories and even runes! You can do the vendor glitch assuming you didn't install any patches with any vendor you'd like but once you install the patch that possibility is complete gone unless you delete all the patches and start over with a new character. Like I said, if you're starting with a new character I recommend not downloading any patches until you reach Skyhold because you don't have access to the dup box regardless until you reach that point so you'd be essentially nerfing yourself for no reason. When you reach Skyhold do the power exploit so that you can unlock inquisition perks, after that it's up to you if you download the patches or not. Do you want to be able to dup any crafting material you want? Even the Tier 4 ones that come in limited amounts? Don't download the patch. Do you want to duplicate as many amulets of power as you want(quickly) and make your team completely OP the moment you reach Skyhold? Download the patches and do the Skyhold box dup method. If you just want the Platinum I'd recommend just downloading the patches after doing the power exploit so that you can dup amulets and become completely OP early on, I've been decimating enemies 2 levels and sometimes even 3 levels above me in nightmare diff due to the amount of broken passives I was able to unlock earlier on. However if you just want to enjoy the game and see yourself putting 100+ of more hours into it not downloading the patches seems ideal because like I said, some crafting materials are limited.
Aluminium_Sirius
Your exertions are amusing. As is your army of parrots, apparently. The game developers produced patches to prevent you from exploiting, didn't they? „Hunting” for trophies? Sure. But not hunting for exploits. Like in the real life: people hunt for jobs, but not exploit them. This is forum, people can have different opinions on the matters. Get used to it. And get a job, sir lol
