Irem Collection Vol. 2, with Gunforce II (PS5 & 4)

ININ Games and Tozai are releasing Irem Collection Vol. 2 on 20 February 2024. It'll have Air Duel, Gun Force, and Gun Force II (Metal Slug Zero?). Irem's swan song, GF II AKA GeoStorm, is made by the team behind Metal Slug before they moved on and formed Nazca. The art style is similar in many ways, complete with "kibbles 'n bits" explosions. You'll find a few "slug" vehicles.

 

GF II looks great, and I actually prefer its soundtrack over Metal Slug 1's. The first stage theme will get you in the mood to wreck some alien bastards. Thankfully it even gets a reprise later in the game. You're dual wielding in this one. Listen close and you'll hear a few MS sound effects.

 

The SNES port of Gun Force will be there also. GF1 is more similar to a Contra. Air Duel is a vertical scroll shmup. Strictly Limited is taking physical edition preorders starting 16 July. ICv2 will have a standard (35 euro) and collector's (90 euro) editon. The CE comes with a soundtrack, visual compendium, retro print set, reversible posters, and other goodies.
