Map destination Orange "X"?

Sometimes this orange X shows up on my map that says "Map Destination" in the legend.  What is that and how do I get rid of it?

 

When it's on the map, I can't zoom in or out with up and down and the stagecoaches, while they appear on the map, don't appear when I run to them.  I can't even whistle for my horse while it's on the map.  I'm pretty sure that's the reason because right before making this post, it's the 2nd time it appeared and all these things were happening while it was there the first time.  It took some time for it to go away but this time it's sticking around for a lot longer.

i think this has just happened to me, couldn't get my menu up to place a camp and the game is kinda stuck, had to load an auto save - its strange, had to back track the game by an hour of play , 1st time its happened thou

If you mean that orange x by that blip, it appear, when you travel in taxi stagecoach. That’s the place, where driver will go after you accept your destination. Sometimes it can be glitchy and you must wait few seconds for moment, when it dissapear.
