Five-Star Chef Contest Tips

Just thought I'd share a few things I learned after struggling with this trophy.

 

• Max out cooking on one character - ONLY use this character for the contest
• Go to System > Settings > Audio - and turn BGM Volume to 0 (you can hear the sound effects and feel the rhythm better to time your button pressing)
• Save at Fun City Entrance and teleport to the Cooking Master Front Desk
• Play a round, if you win - teleport back to Fun City Entrance and save. 
• Play a round, if you lose - reload your save from the Fun City Entrance.
• That way you will get continuous wins one after another by reloading your save if you lost a round and just teleport back and forth.

Literally just got this, I turned the BGM off and did the loading each time. I know it sure helped loading if I messed up, which was a lot. I ended up getting it first try for the Trophy on the fruit dishes, probably because there weren't a lot of variations, so I was able to get a lot of 10 dishes. I'm horrible at rhythm based games and mini games, can't stand it when a Trophy is tied to it. Thanks again for the explanation.

I got mine with BGM on. Tips which worked for me was:

• max courage, max knife, high poker face and max cooking
• Buy relevant items from gift shop related to ingredient retention
• timing ingredient collection to be more efficient than the champion chef. I collected my ingredients to be late 50s- 60 then spammed . Topped up two more times with the final top up being 20 ingredients left at the 15-20 second mark. Beat the 5-star chef by a good 900+ points.
