The upcoming handheld release will feature a garden center, thrift store and a 24-hour museum, complete with an exhibition room and a gift shop, reports Famitsu (via Nintendo Life).

Users will be able to visit a fully-fledged shopping mall, as well as a raccoon housing project run by Tom Nook.

Animal Crossing 3D also introduces swimming, extra village and household customisation options and the chance to dress up in Legend of Zelda costumes.

It contains StreetPass functionality, enabling players to view houses and towns from other users.

The game will launch during the first half of 2013, according to Nintendo's Satoru Shibata.

The delay is to ensure that the game reaches the high level of quality associated with Nintendo products.

is it weird that i like animal crossing? anyways, im definitely excited for this one. will get it as soon as possible. maybe not on release date, but i will still get it

Hopefully there is some deep sea diving stuff in this one. Now that would be AMAZING

Great to see an update, I'll admit I'm really looking forward to it. Only reason I gave the first one on the Gamecube a chance was that it came with the bundle I bought. The ads I saw for it didn't appeal to me, but quickly became quite addicted.
