DEMON
GIMP is a good free program to get you started. https://www.gimp.org/ Also, here's plugins which can help make it feel more like PS, don't bother messing with these until you have took a look at the software though: http://registry.gimp.org/glossary/a

I'll take a look and see if it's something I can do Edit - Turns out, I haven't got a clue what I'm doing Edited February 15, 2016 by Jacob_Neal01
Not_like_therest
Edit - Turns out, I haven't got a clue what I'm doing Have you been by this thread? http://psnprofiles.com/forums/topic/26395-the-initial-stop-resources-and-helpful-links/ Theres a bunch of tuts on deviant art on the side under "Related" something or other, and look for C4D and fractals in the search, you'll need them. The rest just comes from playing around with the buttons. And read the help topics on gimp's site or from the program. Theres a ton of helpful tips in there. I made notes in a notebook when I first started. "Smudging" is still a pain in the ass for me.

Maybe what he has to learn first is how to use GIMP before moving onto things like Signatures. Much obliged. I'll take a look and see if it's something I can do Edit - Turns out, I haven't got a clue what I'm doing Look up some guides on how to use GIMP if you are really clueless about it. Image Editing software are hard to understand at first glance if you are not used to them, once you have learned how to use one though, you've learned how to use them all pretty much. Not_like_therest
I learned how to use gimp from the program and site "help" section, combined that with what the tuts were talking about. It took about 3 days of solid reading and going through topics I knew I would be using from the tut's posted. How to move my layers up and down, etc. Edit: I had to use the help section during making sigs, so thats why I took notes instead of going between windows. There's paint.net which is like gimp with less buttons. It does the more basic features, but none of the cooler options that gimp offers.
