A quick Arm question

I'm using the Neutral Arm sigils, so my Life/Magic levels have to be the same for the buffs to work, right. My question is, can I lose or (re)gain these buffs as my levels change mid mission?

 

Say I finished a mission, but my levels went from 45/45 to 45/46, so I end it with a Dark Arm. Am I just screwed for the next one, if I don't change the sigils, or will it go back to the Neutral Arm during the mission, if I save some trash mobs?

Hi, bit late as I only just saw this ?  But it should help others, if you level up magic for ex. you will still receive the buff for that mission, then you can erase the level if you wish before starting a new mission.  If you get both light and dark the same level again during said mission, you need to change nothing! ?
