Popular Post ladynadiad
While I get this was posted a year ago and looks like you decided not to bother, I'll go ahead and reply in case others have a similar question: The game isn't hard and it can be done without buying stars or gold. However if you are aiming to get the 100%, you will need to grind for a lot of gold to get 3 stars on all levels. So I'd say it's not hard, just grindy. Buying gold to bypass the grind isn't worth it because you'd be looking at amounts like $500 to cover your needs to get the Grandmaster trophy. The harder levels will require around 2000 gold to get 3 stars on (and largest gold pack is $10 for 1500 gold) and the best level I've found to consistently grind for gold with gives 65-85 gold per run (level 50, but some guides will suggest 25 or 48). The levels are quick, so that's around 65-85 gold per minute. It actually makes for a pretty ideal game to play on Vita because you can go and play a couple of rounds when you have a few minutes to spare and try to pass a level or continue the grind, but you're looking at probably about 40-50 hours for the 100% and most of it will be spent working towards Grandmaster. You'll get most of the rest naturally while working on that, Goldsmith is the only one that requires you to go back to a previously played level to obtain since it's not really doable to get that until you have a particular bonus available and it's not available when you initially reach the level that this can be done on.. I'll also say you will probably get stuck for a bit at level 60 because at points there are spots where you need X number of stars to get past them and the one after level 60 requires 180 stars, which means you have to grind and 3 star everything before you can even get past level 60. Level 71 is supposed to be the hardest to 3 star, but supposedly after 80 it gets easier. There are 120 levels total that you need to get 3 stars in. A large amount can be done naturally with the moves or time you get, the timed levels are easier because you can get 15 seconds of extra time for 4 gold as opposed to levels with moves where 5 moves is 250 gold. You can do a lot with 15 seconds, 5 moves isn't enough to do much of anything, and that's why the excessive gold grind because the hardest levels aren't the timed ones. I'm currently at that point and it's just grinding to get the remaining stars I need to move on. I haven't found any level truly hard as long as I have the gold to buy moves or bonuses and it's a nice little game to play on breaks at work since the levels are pretty quick to finish.
