How to avoid Dahaka hole glitch?

At one point where you're already a Sand Wraith, you're going again through library and near where one of the life upgrades was, you proceed normally, until Dahaka breaks the wall. In my case, he didn't and i'm stuck here, with seemingly only option being starting the game from beginning (ugh). Is there any way to avoid this in the future? This game already requires 3 walkthroughs and abandoning one run when i'm 70-80% in is awful, and try imagining doing this multiple times.
