Best builds/weapons/materias?

Hey there all.

 

I just started the game and having a blast. Forgot almost everything from original VII so it's really like playing a totally new game. But let's get straight to the point. I think most of you were wondering, what are the best materias and weapons for our characters? Especially on Hard mode that awaits us. I heard a lot of good stuff about Chakra Materia and Magnify + Healing. Also the Barrier is a lot of fun, especially on harder enemies when it's bloking half of the physical and magical damage. But I've just started the game (Chapter 5) and probably have a lot more to discover. 

 

So if you can, please share with us some of the best builds, especially for Hard difficulty ?
