starting Insanity and ME3

So like in the OG mass effect 3, you have to turn on insanity before leaving Earth so you can earn the trophy. In the remastered version, does it still work this way? It's because I turned it on in the last part of the first level, when you're fighting waves of Cannibals with Admiral Anderson at the start of the reaper invasion of Earth. I'm currently doing the "Priority: Citadel 2" mission and haven't changed the difficulty since leaving earth.
