Vergil
Sony Interactive Entertainment has acquired Liverpool-based developer Firesprite, the company announced. “Firesprite is a creative and ambitious studio that is exceptional at building incredible experiences that truly showcase the potential of our hardware,” PlayStation Studios boss Hermen Hulst said in a blog post. “The team’s technical and creative capabilities will be paramount to growing our stellar catalogue of exclusive games, and I think you’ll be excited for what’s to come.” Firesprite’s catalogue of previously released titles includes The Persistence, Air Force Special Ops: Nightfall, and The Playroom and The Playroom VR with Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Studio. https://www.gematsu.com/2021/09/sony-interactive-entertainment-acquires-firesprite
EDGES
had no idea they existed, but apparently it's a really big studio, 250+ people made up of Sony veterans from Wipeout and other stuff, means nothing to me right now tho till they put out a game I like Edited April 3, 2022 by The Investigator
iriihutoR84
Would love to see them be a dedicated VR dev or at least a VR-first dev with VR games containing optional flat screen modes. The Persistence was a great horror game in VR. There were also rumors about them working on a Horizon VR game a while back.
