Any tips for Extreme & Insane 4-1?

This level is kicking our butts and we are running "Human Tanks" for double health as well. Which 3 classes do you recommend running? I feel like you need at least need a Gunner and Recon (for extra ammo). Possibly a Doc for the third? The enemies attack you constantly and out of the vents right next to you as you run by. Are there any sections you can just run past and skip fighting? We had 1 member hang back during the robot section to keep the hallway open so we could funnel them in.  Any tips/suggestions would be welcome. The extreme missions weren't to difficult up to this point but this one feels harder than usual with the robots, drone and constantly being attacked from the front, back and vents right on top of you. Thanks!

Yes, Use the door strategy before starting the synthetic battle, Then start backing away from the Flamethrower Elite, Then start moving to the objective mostly Aliens will spawn clear them out before continuing, Start moving up the stairs most likely a Drone will spawn when reaching the up stairs door Place a grid to freeze the drone then Gunner will use the overclock. After clearing out the area the best room to get is the left door grab ammo and run to the corner on the right hallway. Next room run to door to your next objective, Then Start Clearing the room. Next room have a teammate keep the door open then have

another teammate run near the objective then run back after the aliens spawn, Once the room is clear continue with the

objective. Use the door strategy again have another teammate run towards the objective till the aliens spawn, Once clear,

Continue moving to the objective, Slowly eliminate the Aliens in the next room. Next room clear the area then run to the extraction point and place some turrets in the back and grid in the middle start battle Clear the room and the mission is Completed.

My team and I finally beat 4-1 on Insane....wow...this is the hardest mission of them all. It took us roughly 20-30 tries and experimentation. Here are my tips. Make a backup cloud/usb save in case you fail the mission so you don't lose your challenge cards!! We ran Technician, Recon & Gunner using the High Caliber challenge card which gave us 25% more damage across the board. I guess you could run Human Tanks as well but the high caliber card helps us melt the green, orange and drone baddies. The gunner and recon should both be using the Twilight with Tanker Muzzle Brake, Assault magazines, & your personal choice (mine was Radar Enhanced) and M37A3 Pump shotguns. All three of you should use Cryo grids. 1 has Drone support, other 2 have sentry guns.

Near the beginning before running up the stairs, everyone should group up and let Recon pop his Pups so you can see enemies and then run for your life all the way to the hallway before the robot room. The aliens and robots will fight with each other and you'll have a little cleanup. Keep your Technician back to preserve health while 1 of you is slowly picking off the robots in the other room. Don't worry about getting hit too much as there is 1 health pack in that room. Once first wave is clear and you hit the switch in the back, your other 2 teammates will wait in the hallway as you run back. If 2 of you fall back to the bottom of the stairs, it triggers the robots to try and rush in while 1 of you is picking them off (with help from the technician turret). Once the orange flamethrower shows up, help them out to get rid of them.

Next section you'll want to pop a cryo grid at top of stairs by the vents. Set up Technician turret and someone runs forward to trigger the drone and run back behind the cryo.

Next section is either to the left or right due to RNG. One is better than the other but run all the way down and hole up. Ignore reloading the turrets for now until the very end. Putting a cryo midway through the battle will help. Try to keep the Prowlers and Bursters off the turrett or you could get swarmed.

Next room you can run all the way to the back again and set up defenses. Ignore reloading the 2 mandatory turrets in room and wait until the end to do so.  We waited until a drone or orange guy showed up until we popped another Cryo down. Watch for spitters and target them immediately.

Then there is a long hallway. This is where 1 of you will run out and trigger the enemies and run back to the hallway. Keep doing this and playing it safe. Eventually you'll reach the room with eggs. Same strategy here. Kill the eggs and survive the 1-2 waves. Eventually 1 of you will run forward through the door and slightly down the stairs to trigger the enemies and run back to regroup with your team.

Once clear, everyone should sprint to the final area all the way in the back and set up. Don't run too close to the eggs or a teammate behind you will get a nasty surprise. With Recon pups active you should be able to see and avoid the eggs/enemies during your sprint. Once enemies are clear. shoot all the eggs, grab your health packs and crates, etc...I believe there are 3 orange guys and 1 drone in this part. We had a cryo up front, and another cryo slightly behind that one with the technician turret somewhere in the middle of the 2nd cryo. Watch out for spitters, they can ruin your run. Whenever an orange guy showed up, always make sure there is a cryo down in front of the turret. With overclock and grenades and the fast firing Twilights and extra 25% damage, you should melt them pretty quick.

It was stressful as hell but overly rewarding when we beat the level. We screamed our heads off. The next 2 levels hopefully won't be that hard...lol
