Question about somniums and failing?

trying to avoid spoilers so decided to ask here rather than risking a google search 

 

I did the second somnium dive (I forget what they are actually called) and I run out of time and failed

 

On the fail screen there was 3 options, retry and restart are pretty self explanatory but there was a third option listed as out 

 

Is out just quitting the game or will the story continue in a different direction because I didn't finish the somnium?

 

Sorry if this was explained in game and I just missed it

Pretty sure it says Quit, not Out and yeah, it just quits the game. You could always try yourself since you can save beforehand.

One thing to do is to make sure you are actually locking in the timies. You can finish the first couple Somniums barely without using them which is why it took me awhile to figure out what I was doing wrong. Selecting a timie with L1 and R1 doesn't set which one you want to use when you press the selection button to pick your choice. First you have to lock in the timie choice by pressing the X button, and THEN select your response choice. So if you failed the 2nd Somnium, my guess is like me, you are not locking in your timies before selection.
