how to you change hubs?

So I finished the story and then set this game down for a few months before starting the collectible run.  I never played around in the open world just played story missions.  I'm now thrown back in this game and I'm in metropolis and have no idea how to travel back to gotham or anyplace else.  Can't seem to find a explanation on youtube either.  I'm guessing it's a simple thing I'm overlooking.

Yes, indeed. You just gotta fly over (If I remember correctly, Gotham is pretty much below Metropolis). And there's also special locations, like Apokolips, where you have to travel through certain places. In this case, right on top of the Lex Luthor's tower (Metropolis) is a big red beam that gets you to Apokolips.
