Ronin harder than Kensei?

Is it just me or was Ronin waaaaaaay harder than Kensei? I played Ronin first and some areas were a pain in the ass, whereas in Kensei I breezed through the game, mainly thanks to the long range weapons. I probably died 50 times to the final boss in Ronin, but only 15 or 20 in Kensei.

Absolutely. Ronin is by far harder than Kensei. After beating the game on ronin first, Kensei felt like a walk in the park (expect for the boss fights but these also didn't take as many attempts as ronin did.

Kensei is easier. For kensei you have to finish the game, so you already are familiar with the game, enemies and bosses. Also in kensei you deal much more damage to the bosses than in Ronin. Think the damage is close to the damage you deal when playing on easy. On easy it took 4 heavy hits to kill Sadatame (spear boss chapter 2) and on kensei 5

Tried Ronin, but when you are the child in the early chapters those Caped guys with the hats on kill you almost instantly, I found it too hard. 

 

Doing Ronin again right now, enemies take about 20 hits and you run out of stamina quickly, this game is definitely supposed to be played on Easy because the combat isn't that great.
