Popular Post servus99
Hi there, just wanted to share tips that helped me (average MGR/Bayonetta player) get all the DLC trophies last week (after having earned the platinum 3 years ago). 1. Story DLCs I suggest starting with a playthrough on Easy for both DLC missions and get all the "collectibles", i.e. health and energy upgrades, to make the highest difficulty runs much easier. And go for the misc. trophies while you are at it. After this, play the Wolf DLC on Hard and get the boss no damage trophy. Wolf DLC only takes 20min as you can stealth a lot. Then play the Revengeance run, here the boss is harder but you can take damage. After this, play Sam DLC on Hard to train for the Revengeance run, and decide wether you want to do the boss no damage trophy right here, or on the Revengeance run that follows (I chose Revengeance, since, yes, you do more (!) damage on that difficulty compared to Hard apparently). See tips below. On the Revengeance under 1h run, make sure to restart if you are close to death instead of dying, because that way time counter doesnt go up. I finished in 25-30min iirc. "You're hired" (hardest trophy) TIPS AND TRICKS - Try to always have him in a taunt state so you do more damage to him (this damage multiplier is even higher on Revengeance difficulty apparently, so I did it on this difficulty, but know that you have to dodge more of his fire charges on Revengeance compared to Hard, but I still suggest you do it on Revengeance.) - When evading him up close, only slash with Triangle once, on his red attacks dodge immediately, on the yellow ones wait a little - Always look for an opening to charge the triangle attack (you can do it on the fire ground punches and sometimes after his melee combo or when he taunts, see this video) - Remember to use USB stick to save before the fight starts and after getting checkpoint after slicing the helicopters. That way you can reload if you get hit and finish a phase by accident. This trophy alone took about 3h, dont get discouraged, you can do it! See video here: Spoiler 2. DLC VR Missions I did this last, because 2-3 challenges are very annoying and badly designed (especially 27, and 30 a bit). General tips: - Use your Square button to slash when in Blade Mode/Zandatsu (do not use both sticks), this way you are more precise, I only realized this on Mission 27 (Zandatsu missions will still suck, but not as bad) - Use videos from Keapathic from the trophies .org guide or the YT playlist from Nkotolive, read comments if you are stuck Mission 27 tips (hardest one): - Use square button (ps3) to slash when in Blade Mode/Zandatsu, not both sticks, you really notice it here - When you go down to room 2 and the gekko + 3 mastiffs spawn, take them back to room 1 to have more space - focus on one mastiff at a time, try to only damage him, just use your normal sword with square attacks, try to get a stun by getting a 25-30 combo on one guy, do this by learning when to block (stick + square) and when to dodge (square + X) - If you hit one guy too much and you dont get the X+O prompt, you will have to "normal-execute" Zandatsu on him when he "kneels down" - Hope the Gekko does his charge and you parry him while you kill the 3 mastiffs, otherwise it will be hard - When going down to room 3, camp underneath the RPG guys and wait, they will come down, often one by one, so you can take them out easier, hit them once before doing Blade mode if you like, so they dont shoot - When the Fenrirs spawn in Room 3, slowly take them up the ramp to previous rooms to prevent them from jumping off the map due to bad AI (annoying bug that ends a lot of runs) - I didnt do it in this run, I found it useful to have them near the ramp, but still in Room 3 - On the Fenrirs use pincers, I found using the regular Triangle attack and jumping afterwards to cancel animation time works good, but you can also use Up-Up-Triangle to do the dash attack (~3 hits to knock down a Fenrir) - Good luck! I failed twice on the last Fenrir at approximately 7m50s - Very hard mission due to skill and luck being required, plus very bad game design (Zandatsu, Night, selfkill AI, small spaces etc.) See video here: Spoiler Mission 30 tips: - For the helicopter wave, you can actually leave the heli alive and camp in a corner to blade mode kill its rockets, sometimes giving you 1-2 repair nano pastes, which is good for the final enemies ... also stun the helicopter with Sai weapon while killing the other guys, so it doesnt shoot its rockets while you are fighting - For the mastiffs in wave 3, just like mission 27, focus on one to kill them more quickly, or use pincers with charge attacks or dash attack (up up triangle), same tips go for the Fenrirs at the end, after killing the GRADS, alternatively you can kill Fenrirs with the Sai to stun them and slide into them (run + triangle) - For the two GRADS, use the Sai weapon to keep one GRAD in stun-lock and attack with regular sword square attacks while jumping (Sai is a mini dagger, it charges up and glows purple if you dont get hit for 6 seconds, allowing you to stun enemies) - if you stay close to a GRAD and keep jumping/slashing/stunning with Sai, then Fenrirs barely hit you Hope this helps servus Edited July 24, 2023 by servus99
zemiguelreis
Thank you for sharing these tips! Some little details really helped me finish the DLCs. The "You're hired" trophy took me way longer than VR missions 27 and 30 combined.
objectioner
The tip for slicing the helicopters missiles to get nano-pastes was a life saver on VR 30! Some tips for others that might help that i've picked up along the way: Sam's Sen.Armstong fight - Just do it on Revengeance. Yes he is more aggressive but compared to Hard, a charged taunt attack does a lot for damage Phase 1 on Rev = 3 charges VS Hard = 4-5. And pretty much the same for phase 2. Also on Rev difficulty his opening moves are predictable. -First hit and he does his buffing animation. Then he will do a variation of an a ground attack: Either the one or two fissure attack. You should note that 2 charged attacks and then a regular attack will stagger him. Allowing a 'taunt' buff or a charged attack - which will send him flying opening him for another charged attack! Ultimately for me it came came down to the Ai RNG rolling in my favour. That and getting lucky with destroying all the stupid helicopters he throws at you before the checkpoint. This was the hardest part for me after I had master dealing with Armstrong's move set. Phase 2 is more of the same as Phase 1 - just remember he always starts with that crappy 'charging inferno attack'. Bladewolf's Khamsin boss -Do this on Hard, he's faster and more aggressive on Rev. -He is very weak to Heat Knives and Emp Grenades. 3 Heat knives to his 'flesh' part and he will stagger. 1 Emp Grenade will stagger him, just not for as long as the heat knives. But you can essentially stun lock him for a bit. Most of his attacks can be avoided by jumping then attacking. The exception being the 'Glowing Yellow over head attack' - use dodge-counter to the left or right (If you are in the air you can't dodge it). And his 'jumping slam attack' which you should be blocking, as it allows you to sneak up on him to stealth attack him -doing 20% damage to his health! VR Mission 27 Some general tips here: - When dealing with the Mastiffs or Fenrirrs: Lock onto one and keep attacking it, focusing on one enemy usually make the others Ai become a bit a passive. And be aggressive with the Mastiffs if you can't perfect parry them. Just keep attacking and and blocking and eventually they stagger for an instant takedown or turn blue for a torso zandatsu. For the Fenrirrs, the Pincers uncharged Triangle x3 attack will usually stun them for an instant take down. Just don't go over board or you could accidently outright kill them. Here is a little trick discovered that might make the round 2 Mastiffs + Gekko bit a little easier. After you kill the 3 soldiers - immediately run back to Area 1 and stay in the middle with the central pillar between Area 1 and 2. Often the Mastiffs will get stuck and keep trying to jump over it, while the Gekko will finds its way to you, making it easier to bait a charged attack for an easy instant takedown. Then you might be able to coax one Mastiff at a time to fight you. Be warned! If you do this and are not quick you may end up taking to much time. Hope this helps anyone!
